Well - we arrived at the airport to be greeted with the news that our flight has been further delayed until 2PM. We had asked to be upgraded in our "seating arrangements" and were told last night that we should speak with the LAX station manager today. The seats we were given last night were just forward of the emergency exit row and did not recline. The prospect of traveling 14 hours in coach class is daunting, but to make us do so in seats that do not recline would be downright barbaric. We spoke with a supervisor today and we were given a whole row of 4 so that we "will be more comfortable." Those seats recline. Karen asked if we could use the internet and they gave us passes to the Air New Zealand International VIP Lounge. We are now in the lounge as VIP's, surfing away. I just had a cappuccino and am about to hit the salad and bread bar, and the wine can't be passed up. I bet I can stash a bottle of '82 Merlot in my carry-on.....

This is the VIP Lounge.

The food bar. Here I come!!!

Welcome to the wonderful world of airlines clubs. They area good thing!
Have they given you any cash compensation? I thought if they involuntarily delay you more than 4hrs, you get some mulla.
There is no rule for that here in the god ol' US of A. If we were in Europe or flying from europe, they would have to compensate us with at least 600 euros.....
Who IS the drunken duck?
