Well, I got my bags all packed with 15 minutes to spare... YAY!!! We said goodbye to Lauren and she was about as upset as a kid who gets told he's not getting shots at the doctor's. Then we picked up my dad who gets my car for 3 weeks. We drove Preston to his momma's house and droped him off. He was just as crushed as Lauren was (right) and asked if we'd bring him a snow globe..... Maybe we can find one in Tahiti or Bora Bora? Dad dropped us off at FLL, and I gotta tell you, paying $2 a bag for curbside check-in is AWESOME!!! To top it all off, FLL has free wi-fi, so Karen & I get to surf the net for the next 2 hours while listening to aging, well-worn, tanned, European couples argue about whatever it is they argue about in their native tongue.... Hopefully they're sitting in first class on the trip to LAX - we are not :(
Thanks to Mario, I have 3 small bottles of rum in my carry-on, and thanks to Crissy Crissy we have 4 vouchers for drinks onboard.... If that fails, I stocked up on Tylenol PM to knock myself out for a few hours during the trip from Los Angeles to Auckland - 13 hours or so....
