Last night we went out for dinner at Urbano Bistro, a small eatery near our hotel. Karen was VERY tired and I was quickly getting there as well. We didn't feel like driving around looking for a place, so we took a chance. It was a little pricey, but my $16 burger and Karen's $7 rocket salad were excellent. We headed back to the hotel and dropped from exhaustion...
We woke up at 6:30 this morning to our in-room breakfast. Fresh coffee and tea, Mueslix and milk, english muffins with butter and marmalade peaches in syrup, orange and grapefruit juice, and fresh golden kiwi fruit. YUMMY!!! I noticed this morning that this hotel had the BEST shower I've ever been in. Plenty of room, and the water pressure is phenomenal!!!
We departed Rotorua shortly after 8AM, driving 2 and 1/2 hours to Waitomo, where we visited the famous glow-worm cave and the Aranui cave. They were breathtaking. Words just can't describe them and the pictures don't do them justice.
We were done by 2PM and then drove another 2 and 1/2 hours to Auckland, where we checked into Quest on Queen, our home till our cruise departs on Sunday. Finding a gas station to fill up the car was challenging, but the navigator did a wonderful job of directing me that we returned the rental car with time to spare.
Our plans for to night are to walk around the watefront and get some dinner...
